Sahara Race 2008 was the third leg in a four-desert series, sponsored by RacingthePlanet. RacingThePlanet raised $45,000 to support Operation Smile in Cairo, a group that provides free surgery to kids born with facial deformities. Race No. 4, the Last Desert, begins in Antarctica Nov. 24.
