"The interesting thing about the 'Woman in Red Lion Pub' is that I have been traveling to New York quite a while and thought it was the Red Lion Pub, which is a music venue in New York. But it's not, it's the Red Lion Pub in Portsmouth of all places," Green says .
"You get a wonderful drawn blank version to start with a haze of watery colors surrounding a line drawing of a Van Gogh type figure and then as he paints it in, you get a very sensual woman standing there on her own. It's the whole story of a man looking in through the pub door."
