Frozen: Hôtel de Glace, Quebec City
If you've got a little one obsessed with the Disney movie "Frozen," you might not want to let her in on this. Or you'll have to get started on planning your trip to Canada.
Quebec City's famed Hôtel de Glace has opened a temporary "Frozen Suite." Created entirely out of sculpted ice and snow and supervised by the film's art director Michael Giaimo, the suite is modeled after Anna and Elsa's bedrooms. But the Hôtel de Glace is no stranger to ice. The hotel is one of the world's most famous ice hotels, featuring beds made of ice (not to worry, it's an ice base with a wooden bedspring and mattress on top), a 400-person ice bar, an ice slide and a snowy Grand Hall filled with ice sculptures. There's even an ice chapel. There are 36 rooms and suites in total. Rates at the Hôtel de Glace start at $219 per night. The suite will be open through March 23. Get there before it melts.
American Hustle: Fairmont Copley Plaza, Boston
The Fairmont Copley Plaza has had a role in a number of feature films over the years and has hosted its fair share of celebrities since opening in 1912. But its most recent film credit is for its role in the 2014 Best Picture nominee, "American Hustle." The hotel is offering the "Ultimate Oscars Package" at a cost of $759 for one-night only: March 2, Oscar night. It includes luxury accommodations in a one-bedroom suite, in-room Champagne Bar for four, popcorn snack trio for four and "creative" hors d'oeuvres for four through the hotel's in-room dining concierge.
