— -- In celebration of the 100th anniversary of our National Parks, “Good Morning America” is taking viewers on an amazing camping adventure.

"GMA" correspondent T.J. Holmes visited a hidden gem in Colorado called Black Canyon of the Gunnison.

Plunging nearly 2,000 feet, the Black Canyon can house the Empire State Building with 500 feet to spare.

The deep and narrow structure is Colorado's canyon and the landmark became a national park in 1999. The park has 22 miles of hiking trails, camping and rock climbing.

Holmes joined Tommy Caldwell and Kevin Jorgeson, who are two of the best climbers in the world, to rappel down the vertical rock wall.

Caldwell and Jorgeson usually spend the night on the side of the gorge. They sleep on a tiny, portable ledge called a portaledge.

The trio found themselves nearly 2,000 feet above the ground this morning, among majestic views that'll take your breath away.
