The
National Trust for Historic Preservation just unveiled its annual list of America's 11 Most Endangered Historic Places that highlights important examples of the nation's architectural, cultural and natural heritage that are at risk of destruction or irreparable damage. The list starts with the
Wilderness Battlefield in Orange and Spotsylvania Counties, Virginia. It was one the most significant and bloodiest engagements of the Civil War and marked the first time that legendary generals Robert E. Lee and Ulysses S. Grant faced off against one another. Walmart wants to built a 240,000-square-foot store within the historic boundaries of battlefield.
