— -- Animal-loving Lily Tomlin is due in Cape Cod's Provincetown Saturday for a show on MacMillan Pier to benefit the vacation destination's new dog park. The comedian, a frequent Provincetown visitor, will spotlight the Pilgrim Bark Park (provincetowndogpark.org), a nonprofit off-leash dog park.

Provincetown bills itself as a canine-friendly retreat, with more than two dozen pets-allowed lodgings, off-leash beaches and trails and restaurants that allow pooches on patios. The park includes benches designed by local artists and a big dog house, donated by artist Jody Melander in memory of her dog, Zoey. It serves as an informational kiosk and displays art to raise money for the privately-funded park.

Ticket info for the Tomlin event can be found at onlyatthecrown.com. Saturday also has been proclaimed "Lily Tomlin Day" in P-town.
