Trade group rates hotel brands; Starwood St. Regis at top

Frequent business traveler James Morrow, who stayed at the Hampton Inn Pittsburgh-University Center at least 128 nights from mid-2011 through June this year, enjoys Hampton Inns.

"They're not luxurious and don't have a ton of amenities, but the quality is very consistent, they tend to be located near my clients and are reasonably priced," says Morrow, an information technology consultant in Overland Park, Kan. "The staff, particularly at the Pittsburgh-University Center hotel, is very friendly and always willing to help."

First in many categories

Hyatt Summerfield Suites easily defeated the upscale extended-stay competition, finishing first in all nine categories rated by corporate travel departments.

The chain, now being rebranded as Hyatt House, scored highest for quality of sales staff, helpful and courteous hotel staff, and corporate rate programs

Among midprice extended-stay hotels, Marriott's TownePlace Suites rated highest in all nine categories to repeat its top ranking of a year ago. The chain scored highest for quality of sales staff, helpful and courteous hotel staff, and corporate rate programs.
