Alitalia says a four-hour strike called for Sunday could cause delays or cancellations of some flights.
The Italian airline said Friday night that it was trying to book passengers on other flights. One of several unions representing Alitalia personnel called a strike from noon to 4 p.m. (1000-1400 GMT) on Sunday.
It is expected to involve staff members such as pilots, flight attendants and ground crews.
Alitalia merged earlier this year with smaller Italian airline Air One, following a period of restructuring that included job cuts.
