— -- A 75-year-old grandmother who swerved to avoid an animal on the road and crashed her car survived 48 hours alone in a ravine, drinking Sprite to stay alive.

Texas resident Wanda Mobley was driving to a family reunion in Oklahoma on Friday morning when her Chevrolet sedan sped off an embankment and landed in a ravine.

Mobley survived the crash but was too injured to walk up the ravine on her own.

"At first I kicked out the window to get out and walk, but it was too hard,” Mobley told local ABC affiliate WFAA Monday. "I crawled on my hands and knees back to the car.”

Mobley says she had “some Sprite” in her car and drank those while she waited for help.

When she did not show for the family reunion, Mobley’s family launched an all-out search.

“Everything goes through your mind and I mean we stopped every silver Chevrolet that we saw because we couldn’t find her anywhere,” said Mobley’s granddaughter, Amanda Russ.

By Sunday morning, local authorities were able to use a cell phone signal to pinpoint Mobley’s location.

Mobley recalled the first time she heard her grandson yelling her name as he made his way down to the crash site.

“I said, ‘Your voice is the voice of an angel,’” Mobley said.

Mobley was airlifted to a hospital where she is being treated for bruises and a fractured lower back. She is expected to make a full recovery.
