— -- Fans of "The Bachelor” watched Chris Soules and Whitney Bischoff become engaged on national TV on Monday night, but don’t expect to see a televised wedding anytime soon.

"I think right now we’re really excited to just start our life as a normal couple in the real world,” Bischoff said today on “Good Morning America” when asked about wedding plans.

“Going to a movie in public. That’d be pretty cool,” her fiancé, Soules, 33, said of what he’s looking forward to first, before marriage.

The couple revealed they had nearly four months together as an engaged couple -– the taped proposal took place last November -– but spent the time hiding their engagement from the public instead of planning a future together.

"The most difficult part for me was just being apart and not really being able to continue and build the relationship,” Soules said.

Bischoff, a 29-year-old fertility nurse, remained in her home base of Chicago while “The Bachelor” aired, but did manage “a couple” of secret trips to Soules’ native Iowa.

The couple will next spend a few weeks together in Los Angeles while Soules competes on “Dancing With the Stars” and then move together to Arlington, Iowa, on Soules’ family’s farm.

“It’s going to be a change but it’s something that I’m up for and I’m really excited about,” Bischoff said of becoming a farmer’s wife.

Soules said his family’s love for Bischoff is what helped him decide that the woman he called “just the perfect person” is the one for him.

“She’s smart and has a career and is talented and just has a lot of things about her that I really find attractive,” Soules said. "[She’s] someone that I can see being with for the rest of my life and being a partner and raising a family.”

Soules may have also seen in Bischoff some smart survival skills. Bischoff revealed that while the rest of the country was riveted by the antics of 30 women competing for Soules’ love, she kept her attention elsewhere.

“I didn’t watch the season so I missed a lot of those intense moments,” Bischoff said. “That was my decision and he supported me in that.”

“But he had a great group of girls and I made some great friends,” she said.
