Bear Cools Off With Dip in Backyard Pool

— -- A bear in California found relief from the heat in a local resident's swimming pool, as shown on a video released by a California police department.

"A resident shared this video with us of a bear cooling off in the family pool this morning. This serves as a great reminder we live in a foothill community, and we live with wildlife," the Arcadia Police Department said in a Facebook post, adding, "Be Bear Aware!"

The police also linked to a list of safety tips for living near bears, which include securing trash cans in an enclosure whenever possible and harvesting ripened fruit from trees. And one other reminder from police: Don't feed the bears.
