— -- A Nashua, New Hampshire, teenager who allegedly failed to keep his car within road markings sent his car airborne before it landed precariously atop a bridge’s railing, police said.

ABC affiliate WMUR reports that New Hampshire State Police said the 17-year-old was driving in Nashua around 3:30 p.m., Saturday, when he lost control of his four-door sedan.

The vehicle went airborne after he allegedly hit a snow embankment in the road’s right breakdown lane, according to WMUR.

The car finally came to rest on the railing of the Sagamore Bridge, leaving the rear end of the car dangling over the Merrimack River, state police told WMUR.

The driver was able to climb safely out of his vehicle, with the river 75 feet below.

The teen was cited for a highway markings violation, according to WMUR.

New Hampshire State Police did not respond to ABC News' request for comment.
