March 21, 2011 -- Jesse Heiman has a credit list that any actor would envy. He has been in more than 140 television shows and films including Entourage, Glee, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Old School, The Social Network, American Pie, Catch Me If You Can and Spider-Man.

Despite his impressive credits, until this week it would have been hard to find anyone who knew his name. That changed last week when the YouTube video "World's Greatest Extra" hit the web. The video is a compilation of Heiman's many minor appearances and has been viewed more than a million times.

It was made by a fan of Heiman's from Sweden.

"I didn't even know I had fans in Sweden, but apparently I'm the number one viewed video in Sweden," said Heiman.

He's been making a living as an extra for more than 10 years, with his first appearance coming in 2001's American Pie 2.

"I just signed up for extra work about 11 years ago, worked the very night I signed up and I had no idea that 11 years later I'd still be doing it," said Heiman. "High school, I play high school a lot. ...For the most part I've always been like a nerd or a dork or a geek or one of those types."

The 32-year-old says his favorite role was when he was a fraternity pledge in the comedy Old School.

"I got to work for six weeks with Will Ferrell, Luke Wilson and Vince Vaughn."

Heiman appreciates the new found famed and says it has also brought new found "friends."

"It's amazing, I'm humbled. ... I've had like 75 friend requests a day on Facebook and now between 100 and 200 additional followers on Twitter each day."
