At least two people are dead and eight others were injured in an early-morning shooting in Miami, police said.

The shooting happened at around 2 a.m. today in an apartment building at Northwest 12th Avenue and 65th Street, Miami Police told ABC News.

One man was pronounced dead at the scene, and another victim died at Jackson Memorial Hospital. At least six others were rushed to the hospital’s trauma unit, their conditions unknown, police said.

The male victim who died at the hospital was 26 years old, police said.

At least one of the shooting victims was female.

The motive for the shooting is unknown, and detectives are interviewing witnesses.
