— -- DJ Steve Aoki, one of the biggest stars in electronic dance music, is known for his high energy live performances, including crowd surfing, jumping into the audience and smashing cake into fans’ faces.

Now the millionaire beat master -- also known for his record-breaking concert sales -– is being sued for allegedly breaking the neck of one concertgoer.

The 2012 incident at the Hard Rock Hotel San Diego was caught on multiple cameras. In one shot, Aoki can be seen launching from a 20-foot high scaffolding and landing in a raft held up by the crowd.

Brittany Hickman, 27-years-old, says she was under that raft and that she was not even a fan of Aoki, just attending his show with friends

Hickman says she was trapped when the pool raft was thrown into the audience.

“Steve Aoki jumped, landed on the raft, landed on my head and I was knocked out,” Hickman told ABC News. "I was unconscious.”

Hickman, of Scottsdale, Arizona, says she did not realize how hurt she was until a doctor’s visit days later.

“The doctor walked in, he’s like, ‘Don’t be alarmed but you broke a bone in your neck,’” recalled Hickman, who spent three days in the hospital and two months on leave from work.

Hickman’s lawsuit is now headed to trial.

“He’s going around the world performing for large audiences and there’s people constantly being subjected to this risk,” said Hickman’s attorney, Jeremiah Lowe.

Aoki, who released a new album this month, was estimated by Forbes magazine to have made $14 million in 2013 alone.

The DJ, whose father, Rocky Aoki, is the founder of the Benihana restaurant chain, issued a statement to ABC News.

“I would never want anyone to get hurt at any of my shows and feel badly that someone has, but at this time I have been advised by my attorneys to not speak about this as it's going to trial,” the statement read.

The Hard Rock Hotel San Diego is also named in the lawsuit. They had no comment.
