— -- ABC News Meteorologist Melissa Griffin explains how this week's weather forecast could affect the fantasy football league.

Steelers vs. Bills in Buffalo

A major lake-effect snow event is taking shape as we head into the weekend, with storm totals of over 2 feet of snow possible south of Buffalo. That snow is expected to continue right through Sunday when the Steelers play the Bills at 1 p.m. Luckily, neither team is a stranger to winter weather, but it will still make for a messy game. I’m going to say sit both quarterbacks here -- Ben Roethlisberger and Tyrod Taylor. Not only will the snow be coming down, making it hard for any quarterback to throw the ball, but Big Ben has been playing awful during away games this season. The only receiver in this matchup I can trust with the snow is Antonio Brown. He and Roethlisberger are about to hit a franchise record if he can score 50th receiving touchdown on Sunday. In the backfields, LeSean McCoy and LeVeon Bell are must-starts, but another running back to consider is Mike Gillislee of the Bills. He’s scored in three of his past four games, and with bad weather in the forecast, the running game will be a big focus.

Bengals vs. Browns in Cleveland

There is nothing more appropriate than two Ohio teams playing in the snow! Heavy snow is expected in Cleveland for the next several days, including Sunday when the Bengals make a short trip the play the Browns. Snow, rain, sunshine, it doesn’t matter what weather the Browns play in, they still haven’t managed to win this season. And now the Browns have just announced that RG3 will be the starting quarterback this week. At this point, I don’t think it matters, and I doubt anyone will be starting him in fantasy. There are two fantasy relevant players on the Browns: Terrelle Pryor and Isaiah Crowell. I’m leaning to sit Pryor this week -- the Bengals defense is tough on wideouts, they seem to change quarterbacks weekly, and let’s not forget that snow! For these reasons, start Isaiah Crowell. On the Bengals, you have to start Jeremy Hill. First of all, with AJ Green out, he’s one of their top playmakers. And the Browns make it easy; last time they played each other back in week 7 it was his highest scoring fantasy game of the season.

Here are the top 10 players to start and sit based on the weather this week

Our Wayback Weather game will stick the theme of lake-effect snow this week. Nine years ago, the Bills went to Cleveland to play the Browns in an epic lake-effect snow event. At least these teams weren’t strangers to bad weather, but it was still extremely difficult for the players to move the ball. The snow came down so heavy and so fast that even running the ball was near impossible. But what made it even worse were the high winds, which made visibility near zero. Winds were blowing over 25 mph and snow was accumulating on the field throughout the game. The Browns were the only ones to put points on the board, getting two field goals and a safety. They won the game 8-0, one of the lowest-scoring games in NFL history.
