— -- Authorities say they’ve found no clues in the disappearance of a Wisconsin physician who vanished three weeks ago, reportedly after having a fight with his wife.

Dr. Jeffrey Whiteside, 63, a pulmonary and critical care physician, was last seen June 29 at a marina in Ephraim, a village located on the northeast part of the state. After the reported fight, his wife returned to their home in Grand Chute, Wisconsin, about 100 miles away.

She reported him missing two days later.

Authorities have used sonar-equipped boats, a plane and K-9 units to scour the area, and Whiteside’s colleagues and friends have participated in search efforts.

Following three weeks of searching, police have scaled back the search. Police said they aren’t ruling anything out, including foul play, but at this point no one has been implicated in Whiteside’s disappearance.

Dr. Ray George, a colleague of Whiteside’s, said he’s becoming increasingly worried, and that the disappearance is out of character. "As each day goes by, we become more and more concerned that a good outcome is becoming less likely," George said.
