— -- An industrial accident triggered large explosions at a mine in Arizona early today, but no injuries were reported, the facility’s general manager said.

Derek Cooke, general manager at the Freeport-McMoRan smelter in Globe, said the incident involved molten copper breaching a processing vessel and flowing onto the ground.

The molten copper came into contact with infrastructure, causing fires to break out, Cooke told ABC News.

Local fire crews were working to contain the flames, Cooke said, and the molten material was contained and cooling.

Personnel at the facility, located about 90 miles east of Phoenix, were all accounted for, Cooke said.
