— -- An information technology assistant in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, was reunited with his long-lost baby photo from more than 40 years ago, thanks to the power of social media.

Mike Taylor who works at ABC affiliate WHTM-TV, uses Facebook mostly to share pictures of his 3-year-old daughter, the station reported.

But when he was on the social media site, he saw an old black-and-white baby photo posted by Kay Gildea of Lancaster County.

Gildea purchased the photo at a flea market, and then on a whim shared it on Facebook to locate the person in the photo. The posting generated more than 85,000 shares.

"I took a look at it," Taylor said to WHTM-TV. "And I thought, 'Oh that's cute. Someone found someone's baby picture.' And then I read it, it took a minute to sink in, but that's my name, my birthday, my parents and I was like, 'That's me!' I couldn't believe it."

Taylor didn't recognize himself in the photo, he told ABC News today, but he showed the picture to his mother the next day, who confirmed that it was her handwriting on the card.

"It was kind of weird," he said. "I didn't know how that happened at first."

Taylor reached out to Gildea, who mailed him the photo. Taylor said he thinks the photo may have come from a box of his grandfather's belongings, because Gildea also purchased a photo of Taylor's grandmother at the same flea market.

He also went along with a TV crew interviewing Gildea to express his gratitude to her.

"I don't have a lot of pictures of myself as a baby or a child growing up," Taylor said to WHTM. "And I don't really have anything to share with my daughter, who's 3 now, so it's nice. She loves baby pictures. It's nice to have some of that family stuff back."
