Pope Francis: What He Tweeted From 40,000 Feet

The pontiff arrives in DC later this afternoon.

— -- Showing that he's truly a 21st century man, Pope Francis sent a tweet out to his followers while flying from Cuba.

For fans of the pope, the substance of the message would not come as much of a shock.

Pope Francis is one of the most influential people on Twitter, with more than 22 million followers spread out across nine accounts written in different languages.

Today's message marked the first time that he posted a message on Twitter since he first arrived in Cuba this weekend.

He is now flying from Santiago, Cuba to Washington, D.C. for the start of his three-city journey through the U.S.
