The Southern California fires have threatened thousands of animals. Horses are a particular problem, because so many owners have no horse trailers.
The L.A. branch of the Society to Prevent Cruelty to Animals, (SPCALA) has mobilized their animal rescue unit, the Disaster Animal Response Team (DART) a unit specially trained to mount large scale animal rescues. This horse was moved to the San Diego Animal Shelter in Carlsbad on Tuesday.
