A female journalist screams after she is bitten by a giant panda in her left shoulder at the China Wolong Giant Panda Protection and Research Center on Aug. 9, 2005, in Wolong of Sichuan Province, southwest China. The journalist was attacked by the giant panda when she crossed a fence and posed for pictures with the bear. Pieces of her skin and tissues were torn off by the panda. Journalists flocked to the Wolong Nature Reserve as selection of the giant pandas to be sent to Taiwan kicked off on Aug. 9 at the nature reserve. A nine-member selection panel was established at Wolong Giant Panda Protection and Research Center.
