quicklist: 1title: 'Is This What a Normal Relationship Looks Like to You?'text: The courtroom at the Jodi Arias murder trial was shocked -- and Arias began sobbing -- when the prosecutor stunned them by suddenly flashing a photograph of Arias' ex-boyfriend Travis Alexander with his throat slashed open.

Alexander's sisters and friends burst into tears and one ran out of the courtroom when prosecutor Juan Martinez held up the grisly picture of Alexander with his throat slashed and bloodied.

Arias, who is on trial for allegedly murdering Alexander, sobbed uncontrollably at the sight of the photo. She is accused of stabbing Alexander 27 times, slashing his throat, and shooting him twice in the head in a bout of jealousy. She could face the death penalty if convicted.

In the moments before the incident, Martinez was questioning Lisa Daidone, who dated Alexander in 2007 after Alexander's break-up with Arias but while he and Arias continued to sleep together. The defense had gone painstakingly through an angry email Daidone had sent Alexander to break up with him, after she found out he was cheating on her with Arias.

"Do you think that even with everything they claimed he put you through, do you think it is appropriate to take a knife and slash somebody's throat?" Martinez yelled.

"Is this what a normal relationship looks like to you?" Martinez shouted as he held up the picture amid shouts of "objection" from the defense and gasps from onlookers.

quicklist: 2title: 'She Could Be a Paralegal or Something Like That Right Away.'text: Casey Anthony has become so experienced with the legal system since her daughter disappeared in 2008 that she may be considering a job as a paralegal, her attorney told ABCNews.com.

Anthony, 26, has been unemployed for the past four years and recently filed bankruptcy. She's almost $800,000 in debt but has less than $1,100 worth of assets, according to her bankruptcy filing.

When asked what she may be interested in doing, her attorney Charles Greene said she might want to be a paralegal.

"I truly believe that she has a lot of skills," Greene said. "She's better than many paralegals I know. She could be a paralegal or something like that right away. She is very organized, a very intelligent, very computer savvy person, so I think her skills and her desire may lie somewhere in that field."

quicklist: 3title: 'I Cannot Fully Express How Grateful I Am to Those With Whom I Have Spent Many Hours Here in Washington, Around the World and in Airplanes.'text: After four years, nearly a million miles traveled and 112 countries visited, Hillary Clinton stepped down as the 67th secretary of state on Friday. But even on this, her final day as America's top diplomat, she could not escape the questions about what she'll do four years from now.

Many of the 1,000 employees who gathered to see her off expressed hope that this was not the end of her political career.

"2016! 2016!" the crowd chanted as Clinton waved and drove away. "We'll miss you!"

Right before her departure, Clinton gave the traditional farewell speech to staff on the steps of the State Department's historic C Street Lobby. In a roughly 10-minute, often reflective speech she called the 70,000 State Department employees part of "a huge extended family."

"I cannot fully express how grateful I am to those with whom I have spent many hours here in Washington, around the world and in airplanes," she said, drawing laughter from the audience.

"And then she started just boo-hooing, just really, really hard crying," Bartay said.

quicklist: 7title: 'He Was Only Supposed to Live a Couple of Hours.'text: Shortly after Mary Gundrum found out that her unborn son was developing with part of his brain outside his skull, she found herself searching the Internet to find out more about the baby's diagnosis and potential treatment.

Her next search would be for infant-sized coffins.

"He was only supposed to live a couple of hours," she said.

Instead, baby Dominic was born "screaming and kicking and full of life," but he had a Tessier midline facial cleft, which means the sides of his face didn't fuse together properly during early pregnancy, causing it to split down the middle.

Dominic also had an encephalocele, a rare cranial abnormality that means a sac of brain tissue and fluid formed outside the skull. Dominic's encephalocele filled the space between the cleft in his face, splitting his nose in two with a fluid-filled bubble and causing some of his brain matter to sag into his mouth.
