— -- This sloth has a new place to hang its hat.

The frightened creature rescued by transit officials has found a new home since being removed from a highway in Ecuador last week.

The sloth was found trying to cross a road, clinging on to a traffic median for safety, the Transit Authority of Ecuador wrote in a Facebook post on Friday.

A picture of the frightened animal was shared globally on social media, and now the Transit Authority has given an update on its condition.

"The world's most famous sloth is happy in its habitat. Thanks to all for your concern," officials wrote in a Facebook post.
