April 24, 2014— -- A San Diego naval base is on lockdown today after an unsubstantiated report of a person with a weapon, an official said.

Naval Base Point Loma issued a "shelter in place" order.

"All hands are directed to remain clear of Naval Base Point Loma and surrounding area due to law enforcement incident," Naval Base San Diego wrote on Facebook. "Standby for further information."

The Associated Press reported that the official twitter feed of the Naval Installations Command says without elaboration that two people are in custody, but that a shelter-in-place order to base personnel remains in effect.
