The SPCA of Texas received 181 dogs and cats evacuated from two animal shelters that were in Isaac's path. Maura Davis, the vice president of communications for the SPCA of Texas, said they received 87 cats and 60 dogs from the Louisiana SPCA in New Orleans, La., and 34 cats from the Humane Society of South Mississippi in Gulfport, Miss., ahead of the storm.
