It would have been the comeback to end all comebacks.

The St. Louis Rams reportedly called up really-retired-this-time all-star quarterback Bret Favre this season to see if they could woo him back for a few more tosses of the NFL pigskin, according to ESPN.

Though Favre has dipped in and out of retirement for a while now, the 44-year-old is now a grandfather and told the Rams that this time, he was sidelined for good.

One source told ESPN that if Favre took the Rams up on their offer, "it could break Twitter," ESPN reported.

The world's most beloved sadomasochist is getting a movie.

Jamie Dornan, star of ABC's "Once Upon a Time," has been cast to play the lead character in the bosom-beating blockbuster "Fifty Shades of Grey."

Dornan is filling the patent leather boots of Charlie Hunnam, who was originally cast over the summer but withdrew from the project reportedly because he was spooked by the attentions of rabid fans.

One million dollars was the right price to save three African elephants.

Bob Barker, 89 and former host of "The Price is Right," shelled out the cash to ensure the elephant came on down from a Canadian zoo to a California animal preserve.

No word on whether the elephants were spayed or neutered.

What does the world's first supercarrier cost?

The U.S. Navy sold the 1,067-foot aircraft carrier the USS Forrestal for one cent to a Texas scrap metal company, which will dismantle the ship and recycle its material.

The ship, from which John McCain flew sorties over Vietnam as a Navy pilot, is perhaps best remembered for a 1967 onboard fire that killed 134 crewmen.

At least she didn't twerk.

Nonagenarian Betty White playfully mocked Miley Cyrus' now famous music video, jumping on her own wrecking ball in a promo for her television show "Betty White's Off Their Rockers."

The climber doesn't know how to feel about this.

Prince George, the boy who would be king, had a bit of a coming out yesterday, appearing in public for the first time since he left the hospital.

The baby, son of Prince William and Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, was photographed on his way into the church, but the ceremony remained a private family affair.

Good news – if you love pictures of royal babies – the palace plans to release more images from inside the christening later today.
