U.S. Military Deaths in War With Iraq -- 2003

November 17, 2003

Capt. Nathan S. Dalley, 27, of Kaysville, Utah, died from a non-hostile gunshot wound in Baghdad, Iraq. Dalley was assigned to the 2nd Brigade, 1st Armored Division, Baumholder, Germany.

Staff Sgt. Dale A. Panchot, 26, of Northome, Minn., was killed south of Balad, Iraq. Panchot was on patrol when he was fatally injured by enemy fire.

Capt. James A. Shull, 32, of California, was killed in Baghdad, Iraq. Shull died from a non-hostile gunshot wound.

Chief Warrant Officer Alexander S. Coulter, 35, of Tennessee, was killed in Baqubah, Iraq. Coulter was in a convoy traveling to Tikrit when his vehicle ran over an improvised explosive device. The soldier died of his injuries.

November 15, 2003

Pfc. Richard W. Hafer, 21, of Cross Lanes, W.Va. Hafer was killed when two 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters crashed in Mosul, Iraq.

Capt. Pierre E. Piche, 29, of Starksboro, Vt. Piche was killed when two 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters crashed in Mosul, Iraq.

Pfc. Joey D. Whitener, 19, of Nebo, N.C. Whitener was killed when two 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters crashed in Mosul, Iraq.

Pfc. Damian L. Heidelberg, 21, of Batesville, Miss., was killed when two 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters crashed in Mosul, Iraq.

Spc. Jeremiah J. Digiovanni, 21, of Tylertown, Miss. Digiovanni was assigned to 4th Battalion, 101st Aviation Regiment, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, Ky.

Sgt. Timothy L. Hayslett, 26, of Newville, Pa., was killed in Baghdad, Iraq. Hayslett was conducting a patrol when he was struck by an improvised explosive device. He died of his injuries.

Sgt. 1st Class Kelly Bolor, 37, of Whittier, Calif., was killed when two 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters crashed in Mosul, Iraq.

Sgt. John W. Russell, 26, of Portland, Texas, was killed when two 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters crashed in Mosul, Iraq.

Chief Warrant Officer (CW2) Scott A. Saboe, 33, of Willow Lake, S.D., was killed when two 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters crashed in Mosul, Iraq.

Pfc. Sheldon R. Hawk Eagle, 21, of Grand Forks, N.D. Hawk Eagle was killed when two 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters crashed in Mosul, Iraq.

Chief Warrant Officer Erik C. Kesterson, 29, of Independence, Ore. Kesterson was killed when two 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters crashed in Mosul, Iraq.

Spc. John R. Sullivan, 26, of Countryside, Ill. Sullivan was killed when two 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters crashed in Mosul, Iraq.

2nd Lt. Jeremy L. Wolfe, 27, of Wisconsin. Wolfe was killed when two 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters crashed in Mosul, Iraq.

Sgt. Michael D. Acklin II, 25, of Louisville, Ky. Acklin was killed when two 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters crashed in Mosul, Iraq.

Spc. Ryan T. Baker, 24, of Brown Mills, N.J. Baker was was killed when two 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters crashed in Mosul, Iraq.
