July 31, 2008 — -- In a brief but heart-wrenching statement, Sandra Boss appealed to her ex-husband to return their 7-year-old daughter, Reigh Boss, in her first public statement since the girl allegedly was abducted four days ago.

"Clark," began Boss in a video statement released by the Boston Police Department, directing her comments to Clark Rockefeller, a reported con man who allegedly kidnapped their daughter during a supervised visitation.

"Although many things have changed, you will always be Reigh's father, and I will always be Reigh's mother," she said.

"We both love her dearly and have only her best interests and well-being in our hearts. I ask you now, please, please bring Snooks back," she said, using the child's nickname. "There has to be a better way for us to solve our differences than this way."

Looking sullen and tired, Boss added, "I also want to thank everyone for your help. And Reigh, honey, I love you and miss you so much. Remember you're always a princess."

The statement came just hours after the U.S. Attorney's Office issued a federal kidnapping warrant for Rockefeller.

Rockefeller, 48, is the sole suspect in the alleged kidnapping of his daughter on Sunday in Boston.

Authorities have detailed a plan that began when a black SUV pulled up and Rockefeller allegedly lifted the child into the car, eluding a social worker who was overseeing the visitation with his daughter and tried to stop the vehicle. The child lost her doll and backpack in the commotion.

From there, police say, Rockefeller and Reigh were dropped by an unwitting livery driver -- who since has cooperated with police -- at a Boston hospital where 30-year-old Aileen Ang, an acquaintance of Rockefeller's he met at a Boston sailing club, picked the father and daughter up and drove them to New York City.

Since then reported sightings of the man and the girl have been called in to police from around the country.
