U.S. Military Deaths in Iraq - March to August 2005

Staff Sgt. Kevin D. Davis, 41, of Lebanon, Ore., died in Balad, Iraq, of injuries sustained when an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle in Hawijah, Iraq.

Lance Cpl. Juan C. Venegas, 21, of Simi Valley, Calif., died as a result of a vehicle accident while conducting combat operations in Al Anbar Province, Iraq.

April 5, 2005

Spc. Glenn J. Watkins, 42, of Carlsbad, Calif., died in Baghdad, Iraq, when a vehicle-born improvised explosive device detonated near his military vehicle.

Sgt. Javier J. Garcia, 25, died in Baghdad, Iraq, when improvised explosive devices detonated near his patrol.

April 4, 2005

Sgt. 1st Class Stephen C. Kennedy, 35, of Oak Ridge, Tenn. died in Balad Ruz, Iraq, when his patrol was attacked by enemy forces using small arms fire.

Staff Sgt. Christopher W. Dill, 32, of Tonawanda, N.Y. died in Balad Ruz, Iraq, when his patrol was attacked by enemy forces using small arms fire.

Lance Cpl. Jeremiah C. Kinchen, 22, of Salcha, Alaska, died from an explosion that occurred during combat operations in Al Anbar Province, Iraq.

Cpl. William D. Richardson, 23, of Moreno Valley, Calif., died in Baghdad, Iraq, when he came under enemy fire and fell into a canal.

Sgt. James A. Sherrill, 27, of Ekron, Ky., died in Bayji, Iraq, when an improvised explosive device detonated near his military vehicle.

Warrant Officer Charles G. Wells Jr., 32, of Montgomery, Ala., died as a result of hostile action in Al Anbar Province, Iraq.
