1. 2 Boys Hospitalized After Bounce House Flies 50 Feet Into the Air
Two boys remained hospitalized in Upstate New York after a bounce house they were playing in was swept off the ground during a windstorm.
The inflatable playhouse had been staked to a front yard Monday in South Glens Falls, while the boys and a girl played inside.
Witnesses said a gust of wind upward of 25 mph, lifted the house approximately 50 feet – more than two stories high — and carried it over a stretch of woods before dropping it on a two-story schoolhouse.
“It was like a horror movie,” resident Taylor Seymour told ABC News. “That poor, little kid came flying, just came flying out of nowhere.”
2. Justin Bieber Investigated in Alleged Robbery Attempt
Justin Bieber is being investigated in connection with an alleged attempted robbery that happened Monday in Los Angeles, Los Angeles Police Department Media Relations officials confirmed to ABC News.
Bieber, 20, has not been arrested.
Detectives are interviewing the victim of the attempted robbery. According to ABC affiliate KABC, the reported incident took place at around 10:30 p.m. Monday at Sherman Oaks Castle Park, a family entertainment center featuring miniature golf and batting cages.
That night, Bieber posted video online showing himself sinking a putt.
"I'm the best mini-putter in the whole world," he says on the video.
3. Sadness, Shock as Hundreds Perish in Turkish Coal Mine Tragedy
Rescuers desperately raced against time to reach more than 200 miners trapped underground Wednesday after an explosion and fire at a coal mine in western Turkey killed at least 205 workers, authorities said, in one of the worst mining disasters in Turkish history.
Energy Minister Taner Yildiz said 787 people were inside the coal mine in Soma, some 155 miles south of Istanbul, at the time of the explosion and 363 of them had been rescued so far.
"Regarding the rescue operation, I can say that our hopes are diminishing," Yildiz said.
4. Oscar Pistorius Must Undergo Psychiatric Testing, Judge Rules
Oscar Pistorius will undergo psychiatric testing, judge Thokozile Masipa ruled today, a decision that will delay the athlete’s murder trial.
As the judge read her ruling, the athlete stood, clenching and unclenching his jaw.
“I think it’s clear Oscar Pistorius has a psychiatric illness,” Masipa said.
5. 30 Things Mark Zuckerberg Accomplished Before Turning 30
Mark Zuckerberg is worth nearly one billion dollars for every year he’s been alive.
Not too shabby for a guy who dropped out of Harvard his sophomore year to run a little thing called Facebook.
