— -- Your look at the five biggest and most buzz-worthy stories of the morning.

1. AirAsia Flight 8501: Black Boxes Could be Buried, Indonesian Official Says

The tail of the AirAsia plane that crashed into the Java Sea has been spotted, but an Indonesian official says the tail is upside down and partially buried – with the assumption that the plane’s black boxes could be buried in mud.

Suryadi B. Supriyadi, the director of operations at Indonesia's National Search and Rescue Agency, said equipment such as a crane or floating balloon are being prepared to lift the objects. That process has not yet begun, he said.

2. Gunman, Victim Dead in Texas VA Clinic Shooting at Ft. Bliss

Two people are dead in a shooting at a clinic near the Williams Beaumont Army Medical Center in Texas Tuesday, authorities said.

The shooting at the Ft. Bliss VA clinic in El Paso occurred at 3:10 p.m. local time, said Maj. Gen. Stephen Twitty. One of the deceased was described as the shooter and other the victim. Further details were not made available by officials at a press conference at the post. The clinic will be closed Wednesday.

The FBI is investigating the case.

3. Oldest US Time Capsule Opened

The oldest time capsule discovered in the country that dates back to 1795 was opened Tuesday in Boston as history buffs waited to get a glimpse of items from the nation's infancy.

Pamela Hatchfield, head of objects conservation at Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, first removed the lid then inspected a newspaper, after loosening the screws beforehand for about four or five hours, she said.

"This is clearly a newspaper and it’s really packed in there," Hatchfield said, wearing gloves and a white coat and using tools including a porcupine quill and a dentist's probe.

4. OJ Simpson Heisman Trophy Recovered, Two Decades Later

A Heisman Trophy honoring O.J. Simpson has been recovered two decades after it was stolen, Los Angeles Police said.

The trophy and a jersey were stolen from display cases on the University of Southern California’s campus on July 28, 1994 – a time when Simpson was awaiting trial for the murder of his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and acquaintance Ronald Goldman. Simpson was acquitted of the murders in a 1995 criminal trial, but was forced to pay restitution in a later civil trial.

5. Why Chris Christie's Dallas Trip Draws Scrutiny Beyond a Hug

It was the hug heard ‘round the world, but it could leave a mark on New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie closer to home.

Christie’s embrace of Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones Sunday evening set off a torrent of online mocking of the Garden State governor who roots not for the Giants, Jets or Eagles, but the Cowboys. Christie has said he has been a fan of the team since childhood.

Cyber-teasing, though, may be the least of the possible 2016 contender’s problems as the appearance of a possible conflict of interest has cropped up in the wake of Sunday’s football game and a Democratic group has asked the New Jersey State Ethics Commission to investigate.
