1. 'Full House' Reboot Is Officially Happening, and Here Are the Details
Prepare to catch up with D.J., Stephanie and Kimmy in 2016.
Details about the rumored “Full House” reboot were revealed in a press release by Netflix and actor John Stamos’ Monday appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live.”
The reboot – titled “Fuller House” – will star Candace Cameron Bure, Jodie Sweetin and Andrea Barber, with Stamos (Uncle Jesse on the original series) set to produce and guest star. According to the statement, discussions with additional “Full House” cast members Bob Saget, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, Dave Coulier and Lori Loughlin are ongoing.
At this point, 13 episodes of the series have been ordered.
2. American Convicted of Murder in Indonesia, Sentenced to 18 Years
An Indonesian court convicted an American of murdering his girlfriend’s mother and sentenced him to 18 years in jail.
The Denpasar District Court ruled Tuesday that Tommy Schaefer, 21, was guilty of battering Sheila von Wiese-Mack to death in a hotel room on the resort island of Bali. Schaefer’s girlfriend, Heather Mack, 19, was sentenced to 10 years in jail in connection with the Aug. 12 murder.
Schaefer and Mack, both from Chicago, were tried separately in the same court with the same judges and prosecutors.
3. Blue Bell Creameries Issues Recall of All Products
Texas-based Blue Bell Creameries issued a voluntary recall Monday night for all of its products on the market after two samples of chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream tested positive for listeria, a potentially deadly bacteria.
The company "cannot say with certainty" how the bacteria was introduced to its facilities, Blue Bell's chief executive Paul Kruse said in a statement. Blue Bell issued the recall that includes ice cream, frozen yogurt, sherbet and frozen snacks distributed in 23 states and international locations because other products "have the potential to be contaminated," according to the statement.
"We're committed to doing the 100 percent right thing, and the best way to do that is to take all of our products off the market until we can be confident that they are all safe," Kruse said.
4. Bobbi Kristina Brown: Bobby Brown Was In an 'Emotional State' When He Said She Was Awake
Bobby Brown said over the weekend that his daughter, Bobbi Kristina, was "awake," but today, the singer's wife and attorney clarified that statement.
Alicia Etheredge-Brown said that her husband was in "an emotional state" when he spoke out to a concert crowd, though he is encouraged that his daughter "has made it out of ICU, opened her eyes, and started a rehabilitation that will be long and hard."
Added Christopher Brown, Bobby Brown's lawyer, "Doctors have indicated that she will have a long life. However, Bobbi Kristina is presently embarking on a rehabilitation process and the quality of her life will not be known for years to come."
5. ‘Dancing With the Stars’ 2015: Patti LaBelle Eliminated In Week 6 of Season 20
Music icon Patti LaBelle was voted off ABC’s “Dancing With the Stars” Monday during a show featuring the first team dances of the season.
LaBelle and “Shark Tanks”’s Robert Herjavec were both in jeopardy of going home tonight based on their performances from last week’s show. Dancing with an injured knee on April 13, the 70-year-old singer earned 27 points for her waltz, which placed her at third-to-last on the leaderboard. She was voted off because she had the lowest combined total of viewer votes and judges’ scores.
“I am honored to be here as long as I have been,” she said after learning her fate. “I’ve learned so much about me.”
