— -- Your look at the five biggest and most buzz-worthy stories of the morning.

1. Autumn Veatch, Teen Who Survived Plane Crash, Has 'Newfound Respect for Life'

A teenager who survived two days in the woods after a plane crash that she said killed her step-grandparents said she has a "newfound respect for life."

Autumn Veatch, 16, was flying from Kalispell, Montana, to Lynden, Washington, with her step-grandparents, Leland and Sharon Bowman, when their plane crashed, authorities said.

The bodies of the two people on the plane were burned beyond recognition, a deputy coroner said today, according to the Associated Press. Their identities have not yet been confirmed.

2. Chattanooga Suspect Mohammod Youssuf Abdulazeez Wasn’t on Law Enforcement Radar

The 24-year-old named by the FBI as the killer of four U.S. Marines Thursday in Chattanooga, Tenn. so far does not appear to have been on law enforcement’s radar, two U.S. officials told ABC News.

“They’ve run an initial check on him. Right now, there is nothing popping early in the system on him, but that could change,” a senior U.S. official briefed on the incident said. “They are still checking multiple other databases on him.”

"This was the one we were most worried about -- the one we didn't know about," Rep. Michael McCaul, R-Texas and Chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee, told ABC News.

3. Ukrainians, Australian Kin Mark Year Since MH17 Downing

Residents of the Ukrainian village where a Malaysian airliner was shot down with 298 people aboard a year ago joined a procession to the crash site on Friday, while Australia's prime minister remembered the "savagery" of the disaster as he unveiled a plaque in Canberra that's set in soil from where the wreckage fell.

The two ceremonies come amid a sharp dispute over who was responsible for downing Malaysia Airlines Flight 17, which was heading from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur on July 17, 2014.

Ukrainian and Western authorities say the plane was downed by a missile fired either by rebels or Russian troops who allegedly back them.

4. Plea From the Past: Message on Door May Be From Couple Hiding During Holocaust

As he carefully unscrewed thin-wood panels off a client's bathroom door, contractor Jelle Kapitein said he was astonished when it revealed a heartrending message possibly left behind by a Jewish couple hiding during the Holocaust.

Kapitein said he and a fellow worker found the messages two weeks ago while renovating a home in a Netherlands village.

"What a surprise to find it," Kapitein told ABC News. "The tone of the text -- so sad, so hopeless. [It] made a great impression on us."

5. 2015 Emmy Award Nominations: Snubs and Surprises

There were plenty of sighs and gasps as the 67th Emmy nominations were announced.

As expected, some newcomers, such as "The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt,” booted out old favorites, such as “Big Bang Theory,” even with the expanded outstanding drama and comedy categories. Then again, we were surprised to see that some new series, such as “The Affair” and “Outlander,” were completely shut out.
