As they prepare to wrap up their Chicago based investigation for now LA detectives spent this morning with the Chicago police evidence technician photographer. Taking pictures of the area around the hotel where Simpson stayed briefly the morning after the murders. While three days of searching in an adjacent vacant lot failed to turn up a murder weapon. Sources tell channel 7 NEWS LA police are now turning to high tech satellite technology to continue to search. Those sources say the satellite is being positioned to focus on Chicago and LA and can detect metal objects on the ground from high above in space. LA detective Bert looper returned here this week with a gut feeling that a murder weapon used somewhere here in Chicago. He told channel seven's Dick Johnson this morning he's not optimistic about finding it at this point. But at this point it's a pretty slim. But she never never known to us like a ball game's never over until it's over. Looper has also traced since his likely route from the O'Hare Plaza Hotel to the airport. But for now has been forced to put on hold plans to search lockers at O'Hare because of legal hang ups. The weapon was without question a large two rated night. As channel 7 NEWS first reported last week that weapon is believed to have been a fifteen inch knife similar duties. And possibly purchase last month that this Los Angeles cutlery store which confirms OJ Simpson visited twice while filming a TV pilot nearby.
