We -- on the fire line in San Marcos California with the firefighters as they face a huge wall of flames headed straight for expensive Hilltop homes. This fire has raced through nearly half a mile of heavy brush. With flames reaching sixty feet high at times intense flames that create its own weather with super charged -- Spinning fire into small tornadoes. -- -- here are stretched -- as firefighters attempt to save as many homes as possible. Watch as they conserve water waiting until the very last moment to spray fire retardant foam at the base of the flames. Flames so hard it's nearly impossible to stand your ground. At this location of the firefighters are victorious but only a few feet up the road they were not so lucky. Flames raced up the hillside and in just a few minutes this expensive -- became a raging inferno. The fire was so intense that glass melted and window frames became -- and puddles of aluminum. Once these homes -- there is very little hope of saving -- this area of San Marcos is still under mandatory evacuation. And it's unlikely that the owners of this home.
