When "The Wonder Years" debuted in 1988 it made an instant star out of 12-year-old Danica McKellar who played Winnie Cooper, the iconic girl next door and the dream of adolescent males everywhere. Although sparks flew during her first kiss with her character's friend Kevin, the hormonal duo never made it and Cooper jetsetted off to Paris minus her childhood pal at the series finale. McKellar has taken an unexpected route since her Winnie wonders, and has traded acting for arithmetic. The star, now an actress and mathematician, is the author of "Math Doesn't Suck," a guide for middle school girls. (ABC/Getty Images)
