Blue whales survived despite commercial whaling; now threatened by industry.

Long Shot: To shoot video images of whale spouts that spotters see with their binoculars, ABC News cameraman Scott Shulman brought special equipment to southen Chile. The entire story was shot on two JVC-HD250 high definition cameras. The lens is a Canon at 160mm zoom with a 2X converter and a front mounted 1.5X teleconverter making the lens more than 900mm. Shulman says it's "more like a telescope" than a TV camera. He was able to capture images of the whales 10 miles at sea. (Jeffrey Kofman/ABC News )
