A lioness stalks down a tree at nightfall in the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania. The picture was taken by Andy B. Casagrande IV, a wildlife photographer and independent film producer who spent three months in the Serengeti on assignment for National Geographic's special "Superpride," an in-depth look at the lives of one of Africa's biggest pride of lions, with two adult males, eight adult females and 12 cubs. The special airs on the National Geographic Channel on May 18 and 22, 2008.
