Matt Nyman was told he'd never walk again. He was a sergeant first class in the Army in Iraq in 2005 when he lost his right leg and his left foot was crushed in combat. "I was missing my leg and my back was damaged. I had a collapsed lung and a bad bruising on the other one, on my chest. I had a compound femur fracture, which damaged the peripheral nerves to my left foot. And my foot was crushed," said Nyman, of North Carolina, and now retired.
