March 23, 2010— -- The South by Southwest Music Festival in Austin, Texas, wrapped this weekend, showcasing nearly 2,000 bands in four days.

With so much music in such a short span of time, it was impossible to keep up with every performance. So we at the Conversation wanted to at least offer you a taste of what you missed if you couldn't jet away to Austin.

Dan Harris, ABC News' resident indie music expert, talks with Nick Diamond of the indie rock band Islands about the highs and lows of both attending and playing at one of the country's most popular music festivals. With so many bands, what are the chances that an undiscovered band would become the next big thing?

Any tips for bands or music lovers who are new to the SXSW experience? And with so many people crammed into Austin, what lengths must you go to to get a moment to yourself -- for example, to Skype?

Diamond also doubled this year as the ABC News Now music correspondent talks all about the trials and tribulations of what it's like to be on the other side of the microphone for the first time.

Now take a break from health care reform and enjoy a little music in your day!
