and to the newest setback for what was supposed to be the jet of the future for boeing, its dreamliner jet, a plane on the ground in japan being inspected and a troubling find. Abc's alex marquardt on a growing list of problems for boeinging and their response tonight. Reporter: The boeing 787 dreamliner has been dubbed the plane of the future. A complex, luxurious aircraft made of carbon fiber, which means it's lighter and more fuel efficient. It came out to great fanfare in 2011 but tonight a string of highly publicized problems has boeing scrambling to do some damage control. Japan airlines today reported ONE OF THEIR 787s IN TOKYO Leaked around 25 gallons of fuel from a valve in its left wing. The plane, which has been grounded, was being inspected after spilling fuel on tuesday on a boston runway. The same week, firefighters battled a blaze on another 787. The fire has aviation experts concerned, but otherwise, they chock these issues up to teething problems. If there were something seriously wrong with this plane, there was no question they would ground it. That's not the problem. There's nothing seriously wrong with the 7897. Reporter: On friday the federal aviation administration announced the comprehensive review of the plane but officials didn't waiver in their support. We are comfortable depth about the safety of this aircraft. But we're concerned about these incidents, and we will conduct the review until we're completely satisfied. Reporter: Despite this rash of problems, federal officials and industry insiders believe this plane is very important. They say once these kinks are worked out, its advances will set a new standard for commercial flight. But in the meantime, making a lot of passengers nervous. Alex, thank you.
