Now overseas to the breaking news out of the middle east. Late word of a new cease-fire, this one 72 hours unconditional and word that Israelis and Palestinians are ready to meet with Egypt which has offered to broker a lasting peace. Is this the break the world has been waiting for? ABC's David Wright is in Jerusalem with the breaking news. Reporter: News of this cease-fire breaking in the middleeast. 72-hour humanitarian cease-fire, unconditional, Israeli troops to remain on the ground for the duration while Israeli and Palestinian negotiators head to Egypt to discuss a durable cease-fire. This comes one day after yet more devastating attacks in gaza, including the shelling of a U.N. School. We were there on the ground, just a horrific scene, mothers killed sleeping next to their infants by incoming Israeli shells. International outrage over that incident, dragging both parties to the table. Overall in the Palestinian side more than 1400 lives lost. On the Israeli side, nearly 60 lives. A durable peace can't come quickly enough.
