Good look at this vacant lot in Los Angeles -- -- to become more hundred million dollar money it. The federal government is building a massive new courthouse there even though there are -- courthouse is nearby. And according to a government report more courthouse space that is -- -- why is this happening. It is one of the biggest waste in government it's -- courthouse building spree that started a decade ago. When congress believed there would be a huge increase in the need for courtrooms. This recently completed courthouse was built in Miami for 163. Million dollars leaving the old one right down the road. Had locked in abandoned. At right here just a few blocks from the capitol building itself the federal government spent -- 105 million dollars. On -- shiny new courthouse leaving the old courthouse right over there are still open and operating. But for the most part. It's empty. Just look at the empty hallways and deserted courtrooms we found inside. All told the Government Accountability Office says 835. Billion dollars. Has already been spent to for the last decade. On unneeded federal courthouses. The chairman of the committee that oversees federal buildings once the pull the plug on this starting with that LA courthouse all parties need to come -- and say enough is enough but politicians in Los Angeles. Insist the courthouse is they already have. -- unsafe and overcrowded with. 400 million dollars for a new courthouse is a really needed now it is absolutely needed right now. The way the situation is you had dangerous criminals. Having to go into public elevators and gold down public corridors in order to get to that courtroom.
