Tom is happy to be alive after his car was shot. Something hit the car. Didn't know what it was. So I pulled over at my first opportunity and that's when I saw the bullet hole. Reporter: The 13 shootings were along stretches of interstates 435 and 470. An unidentified victim was shot firing from another car. In another, a woman heard a loud noise driving home was shocked to see a bullet hole in the door next to where her 3-year-old daughter had been sitting. Two people shot in the legs and another in the arm. No one has been killed. It's scarey to think somebody is out doing this with no regard. Reporter: This woman found an bullet hole in her car. She thinks she might be victim number 14. There was another vehicle in sight and we were in the right lane. Reporter: Police are determined to find out if they have a serial shooter like the 2013 Washington snipers who paralyzed the entire region for weeks. You're right on the edge of someone getting killed. Any time you have a random shooter with no mindset behind them and putting them in the cars is causing a problem for everyone. Reporter: There's a sense of urgency tonight before more shoots are fired. Pierre Thomas, ABC news, Washington.
