It started as a normal family hike that in an instant plunged nineteen year old Ivan silliest into one nightmare. -- -- was hiking along this ridge with his brother and father when his dad threw a bottle over the -- about 300 foot drop. That's what Lola year old German shepherd mix -- she slid down the side of the ravine at 150 feet from the bottom. -- -- tried to -- then needed his own rescue the terrain itself was very steep 35 firefighters responded as Ivan and low -- waited for ninety long minutes dangling precariously as rescuers inched closer on an unstable hillside. They wanted to use a helicopter to -- them out but the wind from the rotor blades forced them to plan B. We were able to take members from the top of the ridge top repel down. Secure the -- victim along with his dog and lower them to safety. Finally rescuers were able to get a harness and leash on Lola then Ivan and a rescue were slowly repelled down they were unhurt. We met -- at the bottom of the ravine. How long -- Or two hours. How scary was it. Next day. Please firefighters and rescue. Two hours later Ivan was back in the arms of his family no worse for the Wear. Our Ivan says he wants to take those firefighters and treat them to dinner he also says he'll be back in these -- soon he says that's how he gets his daily exercise. And finally David he says that if he had to go over the -- to rescue his dog. He do it all over again one loyal owner and we're glad the German shepherd is OK to Clayton send help thanks to you.
