Transcript for Jayden Laspada's Football Champion at Florida State
And we know, tonight is a big night for football fans. The national championship between florida state and auburn. And abc's josh elliott is there with someone in the stands. And the football player who made her wish come true. Reporter: Diane, good evening from the rose bowl here in pasadena, california, where college football will crown a national champion before almost 20 million american viewers. But there is one story behind this game you should know. Just getting here, is a huge accomplishment. An no one understands that better than florida state offensive lineman, michael scheerhorn and 12-year-old jayden dispala. She couldn't go to her middle school dance because she was sick. Reporter: Jayden's been battling a rare form of cancer. A struggle scheerhorn knows all too well. His own brother, diagnosed at a young age, now, in remission. There's people that weren't as fortunate and lost a child, lost a brother. And that changed me. Reporter: So, when the children's cancer center of tampa reached out to scheerhorn and told him about super fan jayden -- how big would you say you're a fan? Infinity times infinity. Reporter: He decided to pay it forward, giving her two of his precious, personal game tickets. And to cover her and her mother's expenses, going online, raising over $12,000. Hey, jayden. How are you? It's great to finally meet you. I've been to a few games. What makes me happy is that someone else gets to feel the same happiness that I do. Reporter: Diane, jayden is in the stands tonight, her cancer in remission and her mother by her side. If you're pulling for the tigers or the seminoles, I think we're all michael scheerhorn and jayden dispala fans. The big game tonight. Watch it on espn at 8:00 p.M. Eastern.
