Reporter: Every olympic journey starts with a child and a dream. Good job, Ted. Reporter: But behind each one of them a mom or a dad. Waking up at the crack of dawn, being there late to pick them up. Drying the tears. This salute from proncter and gable. There's Meryl Davis and Charlie white and here are their moms. Best of friends sitting side by side day and night for the 17 years leading to this heart-stopping olympic moment. Part of the gold-medal winning miracle team. Stunning the world in 1980. A game igniting a passion in his little boy Ryan. 34 years later, Ryan keeps the miracle going, representing team usa on the ice. Dad could not be prouder.
