Transcript for NASA Tests Flying Saucer
To our "Instant index" now. What's trending on a Saturday night. Starting with nasa's flying saucer experiment over Hawaii. The spacecraft attached to a parachute launched into the Earth's atmosphere. They're testing out a stronger parachute that could one day help to land spacecraft on Mars. There were some serious issues with that parachute, but nasa says the test was successful. The flying saucer splashing down into the pacific tonight. And now to another landing that caught so many rush hour drives offguard in Texas. Someone had their smartphone out just in time to catch this small yellow plane making an emergency landing on a grassy area near an interstate in Arlington, before slamming into a truck. The pilot walked away unhurt. One person in that truck was treated for minor injuries. And now, one of those "It's never too late" stories. A 100-year-old world war ii vet finally getting his high school diploma today. George never got through high school after being drafted in 1941. His bravery earned him several medals, but he always wanted that diploma, and today, he got it. His 19-year-old great-grandson at his side, as they both graduated today, together, from the same school district in upstate New York.
