Oppressive heat helped create a kind of monster wildfire out -- Oregon tonight force separate fires. -- joining forces become what the governor described as a firestorm. Beyond human imagination four times the size of Seattle. ABC's brandy hit back on the fire lines for us tonight. It entire neighborhoods reduced to ash where the 16100 firefighters from across the country are now on the front lines of this tense battle which began last Monday as for small fires sparked by lightning exploded into one massive inferno. Now scorching more than 380 square miles roughly four times the size of Seattle. Some of the clearest pictures of the fire coming by drone flames wiping out railroad lines leveling some homes but -- others. Warns mothers lost his dream home that he purchased just three weeks ago but his try to keep looking on the positive side. Been in tears. With dozens of fires burning in the northwest it is taking days -- fire crews to get enough man power. Now these Blackhawk helicopters are making strategic water drops while crews on the ground dig through the blackened earth to build critical fire lines. And the military is pitching in to C 130 -- seen here in higher emissions are standing by at -- ready. All that's left at this burned out home is the chimney and for the first time firefighters say they're making progress thanks to cold winds and lower temperatures. But they say it could be weeks before this fire is fully contained.
